The Nation’s Foremost Alpine Club
Founded in 2011 by a group of passionate skiers, “The Ivy Ski Club” is an international, invitational-only ski club. The club boasts an active and engaged membership of enthusiastic skiers from across the United States and Europe. Currently our members hail from 15 states, the District of Columbia, Switzerland, Canada, the UK, and the US Armed Forces. Members enjoy the best ski experiences, trips and social activities all across the world from Sun Valley to the Italian Dolomites, the Green Mountains of Vermont to Telluride and plenty of places in between.
The club’s annual schedule include events like overnight ski trips to world class destinations such as Sun Valley, Telluride, Big Sky, Kicking Horse/The Powder Highway, St. Anton, and the Dolomites. The club also organizes day ski trips, including one where we rent an entire mountain for a day. Social events include a “jacket and tie” winter Captain’s dinner, summer events, a tailgate at the Far Hills Race Meeting, our two-man “Collegiate Cup” golf tournament at a partnering golf club, and regional happy hours in cities like Chicago, New York, Washington, D.C., and Boston.
Recognizing that most of our members are young professionals, events are generally organized around holidays and weekends so as to conflict with work schedules as little as possible. Club management uses its years of experience in the ski industry to plan unique, first class events, while keeping costs low to maximize value for members. Membership is in no way limited to Ivy League alumni. In fact, the club has graduates of almost 50 different schools.
The club maintains two on-mountain properties – one in Upstate New York (near Gore) on the Hudson River and one in Big Sky, Montana. It is our goal to continue to build a nationwide network of unique ski properties for our members – anything from warming huts to clubhouses to lodges.
Since the club’s inception, the club has grown by selectively inviting like-minded members from across the country. Membership is by invitation only, but we are always looking for members who share our passion for skiing, the great outdoors, and a stiff drink around a crackling fire. We strongly believe the alpine traditions that make the sport so special are best enjoyed in the company of good friends.
